476 years in the making
The park called London Fields was first recorded in 1540 and, over the years, it has evolved to become much more than just a delightful tree-lined expanse of grass. There are tennis courts, cycle paths, a café and a cricket pitch that has hosted matches for well over two hundred years. It even has a beautifully restored 1930s lido, with the only Olympic-sized, heated outdoor pool in the capital.
The adjacent Broadway Market, trading briskly since the 1890s, is a wonderful place to rummage, pick up local produce and indulge in delicious street food. All in all, your lovely local park is an incredible amenity: a place to stay fit, meet friends and family or relax and watch the world go by.
